TDC COVID-19 Response for Health and Safety
Steps we are taking to keep the building sanitized for our dancers:
A parent must be waiting outside for the child prior to class ending.
Unfortunately, we cannot reduce the risk of COVID-19 to zero and dancers are dancing at their own risk when they enter TDC. We will do our part but if your dancer feels ill then we ask that they DO NOT come to the studio.
Please also have a conversation with your dancer prior to class about these new expectations.
- Weekly whole studio deep clean and sanitization from external company
- iWave Air Purifiers have been installed in every AC unit in our studio (4 units) (To learn more about this innovative technology please visit iwaveair.com)
- Hospital-grade sanitization fogger for floors, barres, mats in every room so rooms are sanitized daily
- Staff on duty to sanitize high traffic areas between and during classes
- Contactless temperature checks for all staff, dancers and parents entering studio
- Hand sanitizer stations set up throughout the studio
- Face masks or face shields are required for dancers 10 years old and older as well as for teachers/staff (for the time-being and will be based on CDC guidelines and may change. Read below for more information.)
- Children under 10 years old are not required to wear masks but it is recommended, if tolerated.
- Please do not come to the studio if you have a cough, fever or are sick.
- Please do not come to the studio if you have tested positive, or have had COVID-like symptoms, within the past 14 days.
- Please do not come to the studio if you had close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19, or has had COVID-like symptoms, within the past 14 days.
- We reserve the right to take temperatures of anyone entering the studio using non-contact, infrared thermometers.
- Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 ℉, or above, will be asked to leave the studio.
- Students must come dressed and ready for class.
- Students cannot change clothing anywhere within the studio.
- Students should bring the absolute minimum inside the studio.
- Students can bring their own water with a resealable lid.
- Face coverings include any mask, shield or covering of both the nose and mouth.
- Masks/Face shields are required for dancers 10 years old and older and only highly recommended but not required for dancers 9 years old and under when social distancing cannot be possible (classes larger than 10).
- This policy will be on a month to month basis and may change as CDC Guidelines change.
- Students 10 years old and older must wear face coverings while entering and exiting the dance rooms, bathroom and anytime 6 feet of social distancing is not possible.
- If 10 years old or older and unable to wear a mask or face shield then medical documentation should be provided.
- The lobby / studio will be limited to students, faculty and staff.
- One parent is allowed in the lobby for students 4 years old and under.
- All other parents / guardians, siblings and family members must wait outside of the lobby / studio.
- Parents entering the lobby / studio must use a face mask and hand sanitizer.
- All lost and found items will be disposed of at the end of each business day.
- We are actively in the process of installing WatchMeGrow cameras in every studio. This is the same camera system used in many daycares so you have access to your child at all times. This means you will be able to gain access to watch your child dance on your phone or smart device while you are outside the studio, in your car or even at home. However, you will only have access to these cameras during their scheduled dance time so you never have to worry someone will be watching a class they were not given permission to view. This is an awesome new feature to TDC we are excited to offer our families!
- Due to social dis-DANCING, individual class sizes will be smaller and available only on a first-come, first-served basis. Larger classes due to level and availability will be required to wear face masks for participation in the class.
- Classes will be shortened for dismissals and cleaning:
45 minutes classes will now be 40 minutes;
60 minute classes will now be 55 minutes. - Faculty must wear face shields or masks during class.
- The restroom will be limited to students, faculty and staff.
- Please make sure your dancer uses the restroom at home before they come to the studio to help with class momentum.
- All frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned after every class.
- Please make sure you review your dancer’s schedule in your parent portal so you know which studio your dancer will be dancing in each day.
- Students must enter through the front lobby for Studio A and Studio B.
- Students with a class in Studio C will use the Studio C external entrance.
- Students with a class in Studio D will use the Studio D entrance.
- Students will be lined up outside by the designated studio floor stickers.
- Students will be escorted to their classroom by instructor or front desk manager.
A parent must be waiting outside for the child prior to class ending.
- Students will be escorted, and dismissed, individually by their class.
- Non-driving students must be released to a parent / guardian at their designated dismissal door.
- Non-driving students will not be released to vehicles pulled up, or parked, along the sidewalk / fire lane.
- Tuition, payments and/or fees can be dropped off in the lobby / studio, during regular business hours, or mailed to our home office: 1134 SE 22nd Ave. Ocala, FL 34471
- We only accept cash or checks or you can pay through your parent portal online. Make all checks payable to: The Dance Company of Ocala
- We recommend sending tuition, payments and/or fees through your bank's Bill Payer.
- All tuition, payments costs and/or fees will not be prorated.
